About the position

The National Sales Manager at MGM Resorts International is a key role responsible for driving revenue growth and managing sales strategies for large group events. This position focuses on securing business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and maintaining a competitive market presence, particularly in the Northeast region. The role requires a strategic approach to sales, mentorship of team members, and representation of the company at industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Negotiations: Evaluate inquiries, negotiate rates, issue proposals and contracts, and process bookings to secure group business in line with departmental policies.
  • Cultivate Client Relationships: Develop and grow both new and existing accounts to surpass revenue targets through proactive prospecting, sales calls, and client engagement activities, including site inspections.
  • Market Representation: Represent the company at tradeshows and industry events, maintaining brand consistency and fostering relationships with potential clients.
  • Revenue Optimization: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to maximize revenue by selling all hotel facets, aligning sales strategies with market trends.
  • Strategic Territory Planning: Execute strategic plans for assigned territories, ensuring alignment with departmental goals to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Team Mentorship: Foster a collaborative work environment, offering guidance and support to team members to enhance performance, encourage teamwork, and ensure compliance with hotel policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educational experience
  • 5 years of prior relevant experience in Hotel Sales, Hospitality Sales, or Convention Sales
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with company goals
  • Ability to achieve established monthly individual, room night and revenue goals
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address client needs while maximizing company revenue
  • Expertise in cultivating and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Expertise in managing contract room rates and meeting space for large group events
