About the position

The National Sales Manager will oversee the outside sales and marketing functions for the waterworks division at Romac. This role is crucial in ensuring that products and services are marketed and sold in alignment with the organization's objectives. The manager will continuously assess and adjust sales and marketing strategies to adapt to market changes and competitive conditions, while collaborating closely with the Inside Sales Department and Marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Outside Sales team of 15-20, with 3-4 direct reports, focusing on effective communication, hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, sales growth, and integrity within the sales team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers, including engineers, municipalities, and distributors.
  • Analyze sales information and oversee the development of sales projections for each market area.
  • Interact with Inside Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Engineering regarding customer needs, sales orders, products, and returns.
  • Evaluate market pricing and determine product selling prices, including planning and implementing price increases.
  • Negotiate payment terms and rebates for customer accounts.
  • Approve and assist in the development of new products and product changes.
  • Travel extensively throughout North America to meet with Outside Sales employees, distributors, municipalities, and potential customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales and management.
  • Knowledge of the waterworks industry, including people and products.
  • Highly motivated, courteous, and articulate, with strong sales and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet set goals.
