About the position

The National Sales Manager at Allen Lund Company, LLC will play a pivotal role in driving sales and managing customer relationships within the transportation brokerage sector. This position is designed for an experienced professional who has a strong background in non-asset based third-party logistics (3PL) sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for contacting new customers, leveraging their unique skills and competencies to secure sales, and developing systems and processes for effective prospect identification, qualification, and management. The National Sales Manager will work closely with the sales force within a branch office, ensuring that sales strategies are effectively executed through prospect contact, proposal development, and presentation, as well as effective follow-up and account management. In this role, the National Sales Manager will be tasked with building a book of business by selling and closing new shippers. This involves carrying out strategies through ongoing sales meetings and strategy sessions with transportation brokers to maximize the volume of loads from new customers. The position requires a commitment to upholding the company standards and principles, which prioritize customer satisfaction, company integrity, and office collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Contact new customers to secure sales.
  • Develop systems and processes for effective prospect identification, qualification, and management.
  • Sell and close new shippers.
  • Build a book of business through effective sales strategies.
  • Carry out strategies through prospect contact, proposal development, and presentation.
  • Conduct effective follow-up and account management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of non-asset based 3PL sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, and/or LTL freight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven with a strong team player mentality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Computer and technology literate.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for sales.
