About the position

The National Sales Manager at Hilton Marco Island Resort and Spa is responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue and activity goals through effective solicitation and sales strategies. This role involves maintaining client relationships, managing sales databases, and collaborating with various departments to maximize hotel revenues. The position requires a proactive approach to client engagement and a strong understanding of the hospitality market.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a minimum of 25 telephone and email solicitations weekly while in the office.
  • Respond to all inquiries within 24 hours or by due date if noted.
  • Negotiate group room rates and concession packages according to Hilton's guidelines.
  • Conduct hotel site inspections to maximize revenues.
  • Entertain clients for potential business opportunities.
  • Monitor program and room pickup or receipt of rooming list at 90, 60, and 30 days out.
  • Maintain sales database accounts within the Delphi system.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of information to all departments.
  • Project future business on a monthly basis to evaluate achievement of goals.
  • Attend training meetings to sharpen sales skills.
  • Travel to assigned geographical areas for direct solicitations.
  • Attend trade shows and entertain clients as necessary.
  • Analyze opportunities to maximize hotel revenues.
  • Assist in generating monthly and quarterly sales projections.
  • Assist with budgeting by forecasting group room nights and revenue.
  • Maintain awareness of the competitive set.
  • Attend bi-weekly sales meetings and pre-convention meetings with clients.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a 4-year college degree in hotel/restaurant management, sales and marketing, or a similar field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of prior Hilton Hotels Sales Experience is necessary.
  • Prior hotel sales experience is required, with additional experience in hotel operations preferred.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Delphi, FDC, OnQ, or similar sales software, and Microsoft Office software.

  • Knowledge of hotel law and development of long-range planning.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff.
