About the position

The National Sales Manager at Tb Isle Resort LP is tasked with achieving established sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis as outlined in the Marketing Plan and Goal Worksheet. This role involves developing and executing personal action plans aimed at soliciting key accounts and acquiring new accounts. The National Sales Manager will engage in various activities such as phone solicitation, marketing initiatives, e-mail blasts, site inspections, face-to-face sales missions, and attending trade shows to maximize sales activity. The position requires a professional demeanor suitable for a luxury environment, reflecting the high standards of the resort. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of prior hotel sales experience and/or revenue operations, demonstrating effective supervisory and communication skills. The ability to listen, understand, and clarify client concerns is crucial. The National Sales Manager will be well-organized and exhibit strong problem-solving skills, with a preference for candidates who have experience in JW Marriott or other luxury hotel environments. In addition to prospecting new group business and researching potential clients online, the National Sales Manager will respond to inquiries and requests for proposals, plan and execute sales trips in feeder cities, and attend industry events as outlined in the Marketing Plan. Monitoring the operational execution of accounts with all departments and managing client room night histories for previous meetings are also key responsibilities. The role requires maintaining detailed account files, updating databases, and performing periodic audits to ensure accuracy. Understanding the sales strategies and tactics of competitor hotels is essential, as is the ability to negotiate rates for group accounts within budgetary guidelines. The National Sales Manager will also need to exhibit strong diplomacy, business analysis, negotiation, and proposal writing skills, while being flexible to perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new group business and research business online.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for proposals.
  • Plan for and execute a predetermined number of sales trips in feeder cities.
  • Attend industry events as indicated in the Marketing Plan.
  • Monitor operational execution of accounts with all departments.
  • Research client room night histories for previous meetings and manage room blocks.
  • Plan for and execute executive program presentations in feeder cities.
  • Maintain in-depth account files, including files in CI-TY.
  • Assist in updating database on a continual basis, and performing periodic audits.
  • Understand sales strategies and tactics of competitor hotels.
  • Negotiate all rates for group accounts within the guidelines of our budgeted average rate.
  • Exhibit diplomacy, business analysis, negotiation, and proposal writing and presentation skills.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years prior hotel sales experience and/or revenue operations.
  • Effective supervisory and communication skills.
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify client concerns.
  • Well organized with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent group presentation, writing, speaking, and training skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in JW Marriott or luxury hotel environments.
