About the position

The National Sales Manager for Marmon Construction Fastener Group is responsible for driving sales growth of the company's fastener brands, primarily Big Timber and Sure Drive USA. This role involves leading a sales team, growing key accounts, and implementing effective sales strategies to increase market share in the Western U.S. The NSM will also engage in direct sales activities and be a product knowledge expert, adept at selling into distribution and lumber yards while utilizing value-added selling techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales team in growing existing business and implementing strategies to increase market share in new markets.
  • Utilize sales software to identify trends and develop strategies based on market and customer data.
  • Develop and deliver professional sales and educational presentations to stakeholders.
  • Guide the team in moving qualified target customers through the sales funnel effectively.
  • Create strategic growth strategies for multiple markets and customers.
  • Provide a consultative selling experience using product, industry, and market knowledge.
  • Position products favorably using Value-Added Selling techniques.
  • Communicate timely with internal and external stakeholders regarding quotes, order status, and sales reporting.
  • Manage and grow current key accounts within the assigned geography.
  • Identify and close new key accounts within the assigned geography.
  • Utilize performance management to effectively manage direct reports.
  • Resolve channel conflicts between distribution and direct dealer channels.
  • Negotiate effectively on behalf of Marmon Construction with customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a high-performance sales team.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience selling through a distribution channel, including lumber yards and to end users.
  • 10 years of experience in Building Materials or Construction preferred.
  • High degree of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coach a team in selling on value rather than price.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Office.
