About the position

The National Sales Manager at Montelucia Resort and Spa plays a crucial role in driving group revenue for the resort by generating and developing new, referred, and repeat group business within a defined territory. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, focusing on meeting or exceeding weekly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, targets, and initiatives. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for actively soliciting and mapping group business accounts, maintaining a comprehensive database of accounts, and identifying potential prospects through various sales initiatives such as prospecting, tradeshows, and sales blitzes. In addition to generating new business, the National Sales Manager will maximize the outcomes of all sales initiatives by diligently following up on leads and managing accounts effectively. This includes maintaining strong customer relations, collaborating with other departments such as Convention Services and Reservation Sales, and ensuring that all details are communicated for a successful meeting experience. The role also involves adhering to the Group Sales Standards of Operation and company policies, ensuring that all necessary forms and correspondence are completed accurately. The National Sales Manager will embody the philosophies of The Power of One and Omni Hotels, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions with clients and potential clients. This position is integral to promoting the resort and its amenities, as well as cross-selling other Omni properties and memberships available to clients. The National Sales Manager will also be expected to perform other tasks as needed to ensure the effective operation of the resort.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed weekly, quarterly and annual sales goals, targets and initiatives.
  • Develop, actively solicit, and map group business accounts per defined territory.
  • Maintain a complete database of accounts in defined territories.
  • Identify and qualify potential prospects through participating in prospecting, tradeshows, sales blitzes and other sales initiatives.
  • Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads and managing accounts.
  • Follow all Group Sales Standards of Operation and policies and procedures.
  • Properly convey rate and package information within approved limits to maximize resort revenue yields.
  • Demonstrate the philosophies of The Power of One and Omni Hotels in a professional manner to clients.
  • Maintain customer relations, GSO relations, trade relations, industry relations and staff relations.
  • Promote all Omni Properties and offer information to clients to cross sell the brand.
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure successful meeting experiences.
  • Adhere to all written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as needed or directed to ensure effective Resort operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in business, communications, or hotel management preferred.
  • Two years or more related experience in sales work at a conference hotel.
  • Experience in "cold call" solicitation, contract closing, site inspections/visits with clients, setting up fam trips and contract negotiations.
  • Participate in development training through OBCR and ongoing with Omni Hotels & Resorts.
  • Remain current with all pertinent computer software programs and equipment.
  • Have working knowledge of all departments, the Resort and its amenities.
  • Participate in all sales meetings and line-ups.
  • Submit SMART Plans & Development Goals, and Market Place Action Plans yearly.
