About the position

The National Sales Manager at Generac Power Systems is responsible for leading the sales team to achieve strategic objectives through effective planning and execution of sales strategies for the B2B group. This role emphasizes growing market share through Government, Distribution, and Retail sales, while overseeing the entire range of sales planning, development, promotion, and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area, selecting, coaching, and developing the team.
  • Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development.
  • Works with Marketing teams to integrate market development strategies into overall marketing and branding activities.
  • Establishes and maintains critical industry contacts, representing the company to key customers.
  • Plans and oversees sales meetings, trade shows, and hosts site visits for key business partners.
  • Reviews performance metrics and develops action plans to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Conducts monthly operational reviews on key customer support issues and performance reports.
  • Provides strategic and operational input to Product Development and Engineering, controlling budgets for responsible areas.
  • Develops and manages sales and operating budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 3 years of recent sales experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment Industry
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Ability to travel, including overnights

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven success in developing business relationships within the OPE Channel
  • Experience with National retail sales organizations
  • Experience managing a field-based sales team within the OPE dealer Network.
