About the position

The National Sales Director will lead the sales efforts for a Chicago-based company specializing in Authentic Mexican Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). This role focuses on driving national growth and expanding the brand's presence beyond the Midwest, while collaborating with a team to build relationships with grocery retailers and executing innovative sales strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead national sales efforts, expanding into new territories outside the Midwest.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with grocery retailers and buyers to drive sales across various retail sectors.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor promotional plans that align with growth objectives.
  • Lead the development of annual sales and marketing strategies, providing detailed analysis and reporting on performance.
  • Represent the brand at tradeshows and customer meetings, showcasing the unique value of our products.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of proven success in branded food sales, preferably in salty snacks, deli, and frozen food categories.
  • A track record of expanding sales into new geographies, particularly in CPG.
  • Expertise in managing key accounts, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.
  • Deep understanding of pricing, trade promotions, and their impact on volume.
  • Experience with Hispanic food products and familiarity with regional/national food buyers is a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, coupled with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset, able to work seamlessly with finance, operations, and marketing teams to achieve success.
