On behalf of our client, a well-known and respected European specialty condiments and beverage company, we are seeking a National Sales Manager experienced in retail and specialty food sales, as well as working with brokers. This position is based out of the Company's offices in Totowa, NJ. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for deciphering the key triggers of growth and identifying business opportunities while demonstrating financial awareness and cost control. The role requires the development of a comprehensive business plan that includes clear objectives and measures regarding pricing, investments, and channel strategy. The National Sales Manager will oversee the execution of agreed brand marketing programs, ensuring that investments are used effectively and activities are measured in terms of ROI and impact, while being accountable for retail P&L. This includes providing a clear picture of revenue and spending versus targets, as well as developing local insights on retail markets to feed into global initiatives and planning processes. The manager will also manage brokers, training and leading all activities to ensure optimal route-to-market strategies, including evaluating the Company's Distributor Network and identifying additional resources required to develop a growing and sustainable business. Acting as a key liaison between distributors and US retail operations, the National Sales Manager will address retail sales, logistics, and customer service issues. The role requires fostering team spirit and functioning as the go-to person on all retail issues, supporting junior hires by providing guidelines, training, and transferring market know-how. The manager will initiate and lead all negotiations with distributors and clients, attend meetings to support product selection and presentation, and oversee the implementation of all retail marketing strategies for brand positioning. This includes managing all web, social media, and PR activities, as well as overseeing new product launches in collaboration with commercial and marketing teams. The National Sales Manager will also manage monthly sales forecasts and budgets versus inventory, collaborate with the Board on strategy development, and manage regular reporting requirements such as quarterly business reviews and business performance highlights.
