About the position

The National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible for meeting revenue and pricing quality targets within the municipal market segment across the United States and Canada. This role involves leading a sales team, including Regional Sales Managers and Business Development Managers, to achieve sales objectives and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development of short and long-range sales plans with the sales team to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline that leads to quota achievement.
  • Hold weekly pipeline meetings with each Region to identify successes and areas for improvement.
  • Create key opportunity strategies with RSMs, sales ops, and Partners for identified targets.
  • Approve co-marketing spend with Partners and coordinate with Marketing for promotional activities.
  • Coordinate with other sales managers to ensure seamless integration with RSM and Partners.
  • Manage discounting on Municipal projects to maximize EBITA/OpRosa.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, customers, prospects, and partners to achieve revenue goals.
  • Manage the usage of the CRM tool by the RSM and SOMs to update lead flow and opportunity status.
  • Make recommendations for Partner changes when expectations are not met.
  • Compile and report on the Quarterly Distributor analysis generated by the RSMs.
  • Work with RSM, sales ops, and Partners to set attainable bookings targets for each market.
  • Identify and leverage resources needed to achieve sales goals in targeted municipal markets.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Travel as needed to achieve bookings targets and develop team members.
  • Maintain a professional self-image as a representative of the Company.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or similar experience.
  • 10+ years in the Municipal wastewater equipment sales industry.
  • Proven history of strong business relationships and client contacts.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding overall presentation skills.
  • Strong consulting and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexible, reliable, and dependable team player with a positive attitude.
  • Outstanding business etiquette skills.
  • Knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications.
  • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases).
  • Ability to interact with JWC Directors, V.P.s, etc. to communicate market trends.
