About the position

The National Sales Manager at Sustainability Partners (SP) plays a crucial role in leading the sales operations and supervising the activities of the sales originators. This position is pivotal in maximizing the potential of the originator team and establishing effective sales plans that align with the company's mission to modernize infrastructure and address the $4 trillion crisis of deferred maintenance. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for ensuring that each sales opportunity is processed with value addition, maintaining frequent communication with each Infrastructure Originator, Advisor, and Associate, and ensuring that all team members are up-to-date on pipeline information and opportunities. In this role, the National Sales Manager will take ownership of all Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and proactively identify barriers, threats, and challenges that may arise in the sales process. The position requires a strategic thinker who can implement sales plans effectively while fostering trust and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The National Sales Manager will also be responsible for forecasting sales goals based on analytics and contributing to the growth of the business by leveraging insights to make data-driven decisions. Responsibilities

  • Lead sales operations and supervise the activities of the sales originators.
  • Maximize the potential of the originator team by establishing and justifying sales plans.
  • Process value add with each sales opportunity and origination review.
  • Maintain frequent communication with each Infrastructure Originator, Advisor, and Associate.
  • Ensure all team members are current on QPO and pipeline information.
  • Establish internal advocates for every prospect and maintain frequent communication.
  • Own all RFPs and ensure governance meetings are relationship-based.
  • Proactively identify barriers, threats, and challenges in the sales process.
  • Forecast sales goals based on analytics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve their targets.
  • Contribute to the growth of the business using insights and analytics.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in a sales position within a complex and fast-paced business environment.
  • At least 5 years in a sales management position.
  • Experience in sales research and information processing.
  • Computer proficiency and mastery of sales and marketing software tools.
  • Established list of contacts and relationships within the business industry and government.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A consistent track record in sales success and performance.
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Communication, Business Administration, Business Management, or Marketing.
  • Effective people skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Mastery in structuring bond/lease/loan/service/concession agreements.
  • Mastery of value-adds: Financial/speed/procurement/contract/design/quality/maintenance/balance sheet/cost/credit.
  • Experience selling to and building relationships with city councils, school boards, superintendents, CFOs, engineers, distributors, manufacturers, politicians, and lobbyists.
  • Proven 'Rainmaker' with senior-level sales experience across various sectors.
