About the position

The National Sales Manager is responsible for supervising, planning, and setting objectives for Account Executives and Account Managers. This role focuses on monitoring performance against key performance indicators, managing customer relationships, and driving sales growth and profitability. The manager will also support and develop staff, participate in critical sales calls, and ensure effective coordination with other departments to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and set objectives for assigned Account Executives and Account Managers.
  • Monitor and assess individual performance against key performance indicators.
  • Manage customer relationships to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement sales procedures as necessary.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor performance metrics and assess progress against annual operating plan targets.
  • Coordinate required training for the sales team.
  • Determine schedules for adequate coverage of customer relationships.
  • Assist staff in escalating inquiries to relevant corporate functions.
  • Grow profit and penetration of all accounts managed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of sales and distribution experience required, preferably in the foodservice industry.
  • Experience in restaurant operations is desirable.
  • Experience using quantitative & qualitative research data is helpful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
