About the position

The National Sales Support associate at Great Northern Equipment is responsible for generating sales leads, building relationships with prospective clients, and achieving sales targets through effective communication. This role emphasizes inside sales and customer relationship management across a national territory, working closely with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with potential and existing customers via phone, email, and online channels to promote and sell products/services.
  • Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, inbound inquiries, and networking.
  • Follow up on leads and inquiries to nurture and convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Maintain customer data and sales activity records in CRM software.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing product information.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and product knowledge to effectively communicate value propositions.
  • Keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and all related information necessary for effective management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attend training as directed by GNE.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of related sales experience, preferably with a national or multi-regional scope.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Experience using CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and strong organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in processing sales and customer information.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new sales strategies and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers and coworkers.
  • Outgoing, professional attitude.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork - balance individual and department responsibilities.
