About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS Enterprise Support plays a crucial role in helping National Security customers maximize their use of AWS services. This position is not sales-oriented but focuses on providing technical guidance, advocacy, and strategic support to ensure customers' AWS environments are operationally healthy. The TAM will engage with senior leadership to discuss incidents, support, and risk management while fostering close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for National Security customers.
  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
  • Understand customers' business and operational needs to help them achieve the greatest value from AWS.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience in Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, or Applications Development in a distributed systems environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, or 2 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for three or more of the following: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, Applications Development.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, presenting to decision makers.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
