About the position

The Naturopathic Medical Receptionist position at Integrative Health Institutes is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a naturopathic medical setting. The receptionist will be responsible for greeting patients, managing appointments, and maintaining office operations while embodying the principles of naturopathic medicine. This role requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about holistic health and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Prepare all patient labs and records for doctor's scheduled appointments daily in the EMR.
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of patient's arrival.
  • Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information and collecting patient charges.
  • Maintain business inventory and equipment by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
  • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Collect and sort mail.

Requirements

  • Proficient in standard business and office applications (Word, QuickBooks, Email, EMR - Practice Fusion).
  • 2 years experience in a medical office reception setting.
  • Ability to wear a mask during office hours, if needed.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work with patients with compassion.
  • Dynamic personality and positive attitude.
  • Professional appearance, speech, and attire.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; higher degree coursework preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with supplement sales and in a cash-based medical practice.
  • Knowledge of Naturopathic Medicine and NDs (Naturopathic Doctors).
  • Ability to multitask and handle a busy work environment.
