About the position

The Naval Governance, Risk, and Compliance Support Specialist will serve as an information security risk specialist, focusing on identifying and mitigating cyber risks for the Department of Navy (DoN). This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to assess the threat landscape and develop actionable plans to secure mission-critical systems. The specialist will leverage their expertise in Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance to guide clients through complex security concepts and ensure quality delivery of RMF packages.

Responsibilities

  • Assess cyber risks for the Department of Navy (DoN) and develop mitigation plans.
  • Review technical, environmental, and personnel details from Engineers, SMEs, and Navy Program Offices.
  • Guide clients through actionable plans with presentations, white papers, and milestones.
  • Translate security concepts for clients to aid in decision-making regarding mission-critical systems.
  • Support Navy RMF compliance efforts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Navy IT, IA, or Cybersecurity programs.
  • Knowledge of Navy RMF Process Guide and NAVSEA RMF Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and manage changing requirements.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an IT field.
  • Ability to obtain a Navy Qualified Validator certification within 3 months of hire.
  • IAM Level II certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting Navy Authorizing Official, Functional Authorizing Official, or a Trusted Packaged Submitting Officer.
  • Experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or System Engineer.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • IAM / IAT Level III certification.
  • Navy Qualified Validator III certification.
