About the position

The Naval Instructional Designer at Serco North America is responsible for developing and implementing instructional materials and curricula for the US Navy. This role involves creating interactive online lessons, assessments, and supporting materials while collaborating with a team of specialists. The position requires a strong understanding of instructional design processes, particularly the ADDIE model, and the ability to work under the supervision of project management. The ideal candidate will have military experience and a commitment to supporting Navy personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop guides, lesson strategies, and assessments.
• Create interactive online lessons, video scripts, and support materials.
• Work under the supervision of the project manager or lead instructional designer to develop and document curricula.
• Consult with clients to identify new requirements and strategies.
• Collaborate with a team to design and create new training materials.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the ADDIE model and instructional design processes.
• Participate in visual design, prototyping, usability testing, and evaluation.
• Review products to ensure compliance with style guidelines and standards.
• Design and develop SCORM-compliant eLearning courseware.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in eLearning design and development.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Prior experience in the US Navy or other military branch.
• Working knowledge of development tools like Lectora, Captivate, or Storyline.
• Broad knowledge in human-computer interaction and performance-centered design.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance.
