About the position

The NAVIGATE Individual Resiliency Trainer/Psychotherapist role at University of Minnesota Physicians is focused on providing evidence-based coordinated specialty care for individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis. This position involves working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to support clients aged 15 to 40 and their families, helping them understand their illness and develop essential skills for recovery. The role includes direct client engagement, case management, and care coordination, with a strong emphasis on resiliency and recovery-focused interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Attend NAVIGATE training, consultation, and supervision
  • Engage in interprofessional education and collaborative care by communicating with team members
  • Work with individuals on a weekly basis for about 6-12 months, then move to monthly check-ins
  • Support clients in training skills, job placement, interview skills, educational exploration, social skills, and behavioral coping skills
  • Identify and address the client's case management needs
  • Help individuals and their support persons learn about their psychosis and skills for managing
  • Help individuals and their support persons identify and develop recovery goals
  • Address challenges related to achieving recovery goals
  • Provide in vivo training to improve coping skills
  • Perform additional clinical responsibilities including program referral and assessment
  • Coordinate care through resource identification, appointment scheduling, and community collaboration

Requirements

  • Master's level clinician in a related area
  • Independently licensed as a provider (e.g., LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC) or eligible to work with patients at the graduate level (e.g., LGSW)
  • Successful background using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills, including social skills training and psychoeducation
