The Navy Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) team is seeking a SQL DBA Systems Administrator (Systems Administrator with both SQL Server Database Administration and Windows Systems Administration experience) to join them in Quantico, VA. This is a 3/2 Hybrid scheduling position. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of over 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the Department of Navy (DON) component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. As the SQL DBA Administrator, you will manage all current and planned SQL Server databases that support our customer's COTS applications. You will also be part of a team of systems administrators managing Windows Server 2016-2019, desktops, and printers. In addition: You will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of these databases. If additional databases are required in the future, the candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing those databases, including database creation, security, access, backup and recovery, and documentation. You must be experienced with applying STIGs to SQL Server databases and be familiar with the impacts on the related applications. You must have excellent documentation skills, and will be responsible for creating related standards, operating procedures, and security documentation.
