About the position

The Chief of Staff at the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Intelligence (DI) by managing operations, overseeing programmatic initiatives, and ensuring strategic alignment with the mission of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). This position requires a proactive leader who can navigate complex bureaucratic environments and drive effective solutions to enhance organizational efficiency and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with ODNI's mission and goals.
  • Lead and manage personnel, training, budget, and contract administration policies and procedures.
  • Oversee budget planning and execution, serving as the primary approving official for the office.
  • Facilitate human resources planning and personnel actions in collaboration with ODNI/Human Resources.
  • Manage tasking responses, work activities, and projects within the organization and across the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Oversee organizational action processing, standard operating procedures, and morale activities.
  • Manage corporate communications to ensure workforce awareness of programs and initiatives.
  • Liaise with other ODNI Chiefs of Staff and components to address cross-cutting issues.
  • Lead a professional staff, assess performance, and provide feedback on development.

Requirements

  • Must be a current permanent ODNI employee or a current permanent Federal employee.
  • Superior organizational, managerial, and leadership skills.
  • Expert knowledge of the IC and ODNI budgetary process and personnel regulations.
  • Superior strategic and tactical planning, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with resource planning and budget forecasting.
  • Ability to establish goals and manage workflow effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within the Intelligence Community.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
