About the position

The NDC Facility Manager at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is responsible for overseeing the technical and administrative operations of the neighborhood donor center collections facility. This role emphasizes providing a positive experience for both donors and employees, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and fostering a welcoming environment that encourages repeat donations. The manager will also engage in direct donor care activities and maintain high standards of service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical and administrative functions related to the operation of the donor collection facility.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulations.
• Perform pre-donation screening, venipuncture, and post venipuncture care of donors.
• Ensure accurate, legible completion of donor records in a timely manner.
• Perform necessary troubleshooting during technical procedures.
• Review and approve donor and operational documentation for accuracy and correctness.
• Maintain acceptable level of proficiency in required phlebotomy and apheresis procedures.
• Enforce The Blood Center's policies on EEO, Affirmative Action and Safety/Health.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; associate degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred.
• LVN/RN desirable.
• Two years of phlebotomy experience.
• One year of apheresis experience including platelet apheresis.
• Data analysis plus previous supervisory experience (one year) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificate of Phlebotomy strongly preferred.
• EMT Certification or associate degree in a related field strongly preferred.
