About the position

The NDT Operations Coordinator will support the Operations Manager in overseeing the NDT operations at the designated location. This role involves managing day-to-day tasks, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining safety standards. The coordinator will also be responsible for resource allocation, equipment maintenance, and team development, contributing to the overall success of the operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing NDT operations in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Respond to incoming calls from clients to prepare work schedules and assign personnel and equipment resources.
  • Oversee equipment calibration and shop maintenance.
  • Maintain sufficient supplies and equipment to support operations and specific projects.
  • Monitor suppliers for quality and cost of provided goods or services.
  • Interview and hire new team members as needed to support growth.
  • Visit job sites to provide support and consultation as needed.
  • Oversee projects to ensure timely completion and meeting of deadlines.
  • Work with PROtect EH&S representatives to reinforce safety standards.
  • Ensure staff have proper safety equipment and supplies on hand.
  • Facilitate client-specific training and lead internal safety meetings.
  • Model excellent customer service and professional conduct for the team.
  • Communicate expectations to employees and provide feedback on performance.
  • Meet with employees to determine their professional development goals.
  • Serve as a mentor to technicians and assistants for certification and advancement opportunities.
  • Foster strong team culture and support resource sharing among PROtect locations.
  • Review field tickets, invoices, time records, and expense reports prior to submission to accounting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in NDT preferred.
  • Minimum 40-hours of Radiation Safety training required.
  • Current IRRSP or State card required.
  • Current Level II certification in one major method (UT/RT) and one minor method (MT, PT, UT-T) for at least 2 years; prefer Level II certification in multiple NDT methods.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability through PROtect, LLC insurance carrier.
  • Must pass the PROtect, LLC in-house Trustworthy & Reliable investigation.
  • Good knowledge of PROtect NDT operating procedures, including QCP's, Certification, On-boarding, and Safety Training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in multiple NDT methods.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to set up and calibrate equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and welding discontinuities.
