About the position

The NDT Quality Test Spec 3 position is responsible for ensuring the quality management system (QMS) for field operations, particularly in support of aircraft maintenance activities. This role involves performing specialized non-destructive testing, conducting audits, and supporting compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures. The position also emphasizes continuous improvement and collaboration with other functions to enhance quality and safety in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Providing assurance of the Field Operations QMS and its related processes through active engagement with other functions supporting aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Performing setup for specialized non-destructive Eddy current testing (ECT) and Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS) inspections utilizing test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
  • Conducting audits referenced by 4790.2 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) aviation maintenance programs.
  • Supporting colleagues within other functions with the development of processes/procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to Boeing Policies/Procedures.
  • Performing Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).
  • Supporting Safety/Quality investigations as directed by Lead/Manager.
  • Managing Non-Conformance and inputting data into Boeing software tools.
  • Actively participating within Continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives.
  • Assisting with metrics development supporting the wider Field Operations QMS.
  • Attending required meetings and presenting associated metrics for review.
  • Assisting in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, specifically Eddy current testing (ECT).
  • Knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and related auditing processes.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
