About the position

The Aerospace NDT Technician role at Actalent involves providing technical and administrative support to an NDE engineering team. The technician will facilitate the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyze NDE data, and track inspector assignments and progress. This position is crucial for ensuring that inspection requirements are met for both commercial and military engines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and inventory support under the direction of NDE Engineers for commercial and military engines.
  • Prepare parts for fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.
  • Coordinate inspection assignments and track progress of inspector results.
  • Request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to schedule requirements, and verify requirements upon delivery.
  • Support the R&D Lab in creating a universal inspection method for all Aerospace parts using non-destructive evaluation techniques such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Borescope.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or 2+ years of experience with one or more NDE methods such as FPI, EC, or UST.
  • Internship or 6 months plus experience in a manufacturing or lab environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
