About the position

The Azure Cloud Migration Consultant will lead the migration of .NET-based SaaS applications to Azure, focusing on Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure SQL Database. This role involves developing migration roadmaps, modernizing legacy applications, and ensuring high performance and cost efficiency in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cloud migration of .NET-based SaaS applications to Azure.
• Develop cloud migration roadmaps for customer-facing portals and backend services.
• Design hybrid or multi-cloud architectures for data and service integration.
• Modernize legacy .NET applications by transitioning to .NET Core or .NET 6/7.
• Guide the adoption of microservices and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Implement serverless architectures (Azure Functions) for event-driven processes.
• Lead SQL Server data migration from on-premises to Azure SQL Database or Managed Instances.
• Modernize existing SQL Server stored procedures for cloud optimization.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
• Implement cloud-native data solutions like Azure Cosmos DB.
• Ensure high performance and low latency for customer-facing portals using Azure Front Door and CDNs.
• Implement proactive monitoring and scaling mechanisms with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Drive cost-efficiency by utilizing PaaS solutions and regularly auditing cloud resources.
• Lead the creation of CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications using Azure DevOps.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Ensure security compliance through Azure AD and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Collaborate with backend engineers, DevOps teams, and product managers to align cloud strategies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cloud migration, specifically with Azure services.
• Strong expertise in .NET technologies, including .NET Core/6/7 and Entity Framework.
• Experience with SQL Server data migration and modernization.
• Familiarity with automation and DevOps practices, particularly Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of cloud security and governance best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB for unstructured data.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and security tools.
• Knowledge of cost management tools in Azure.
