About the position

The position involves participating in interdisciplinary planning teams to develop environmental analysis reports and support the NEPA process. The role includes advising staff on NEPA documentation, leading environmental studies, and ensuring compliance with environmental plans. The candidate will work closely with GIS specialists and review permits and contracts to ensure adherence to design criteria and mitigation measures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input for interdisciplinary planning teams.
  • Develop the unit program of work for environmental planning.
  • Create environmental analysis reports regarding resource activities.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams in environmental studies and evaluations.
  • Advise unit staff on NEPA documentation levels.
  • Support GIS specialists in spatial information assessment and application.
  • Review and evaluate permits, contracts, and work plans for compliance with NEPA decisions.
  • Document findings and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or US National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
  • Satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check is required.
  • Successful completion of one year probationary period unless previously served.
  • Federal payments must be made by direct deposit to a financial institution.
  • Must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines, or equivalent education and experience.
