About the position

The Nerve Conduction Velocity Technician at Clearway Pain Solutions is responsible for performing electrodiagnostic studies on patients to assess the sensory and motor nerves in the arms and legs. This part-time role involves utilizing specialized training in nerve conduction studies and generating reports based on the findings. The technician will work under general supervision, assist with patient exams, and ensure compliance with medical standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrodiagnostic studies of sensory and motor nerves in patients' arms and legs.
  • Generate written reports from electrodiagnostic machines and enter them into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Review available medical records and assist with patient exams and procedures.
  • Communicate with patients regarding the purpose of studies and answer related questions.
  • Operate electromyography equipment to test and measure electrical activity of nerves.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and document chief complaints accurately in the EMR.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and clean electromyography equipment according to standardized procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling EMG/NCV studies and improve patient show rates.
  • Participate in staff development and educational activities, attending required meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months of formal training in Electrodiagnostic technology or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including customer service.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with clinical staff and patients.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule and respond to stressful situations with patience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree in a related field of study.
  • Current registry from the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
