About The Position

We are seeking Software Engineers to contribute to the development and design of AI/ML features for NetApp's ONTAP storage operating system. This role involves working within a team to develop, test, and debug distributed software solutions for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises applications. The position is focused on enhancing existing products and developing new ones, requiring a systems-focused, creative, and team-oriented individual who is eager to learn and deliver results.

Requirements

• Familiarity with design and development of system software.
• Hands-on experience with C and C++.
• In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux System Programming and Multithreaded programming.
• Strong conceptual understanding of OS internals.
• Expertise in algorithms, data structures, and multi-threaded programming.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus.
• Proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Storage domain experience is a plus.
• Experience in dealing with peer teams outside engineering.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the team on projects involving development of new features and sustaining existing ones.
• Participate in all phases of the product development cycle, including product definition, design, implementation, debugging, testing, and early customer support.
• Collaborate with peer team members and other teams such as QA and Systemic Test Engineering to understand customer use cases and deliver solutions.
• Solve technical issues in collaboration with other engineers.
