About the position

As a Full Stack Developer at FirstEnergy, you will be part of a digital transformation team focused on coding products that enhance customer experience and improve operational efficiency. This role involves designing, building, and deploying responsive and scalable full stack solutions, utilizing Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices to deliver functional web and mobile applications. You will also be responsible for migrating applications to Microsoft Azure and collaborating with other developers to ensure best practices in software engineering are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Join a digital transformation team to code products that benefit customers and employees.
  • Design, build, and deploy responsive and scalable full stack solutions.
  • Develop and migrate applications to Microsoft Azure, on-premises private cloud, or mobile devices.
  • Build high-quality production code and perform code reviews.
  • Collaborate in software engineering chapter to promote development best practices.
  • Contribute to architectural reviews and lead implementation efforts using the latest technologies.
  • Experiment with and learn new technologies to stay current with development trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 4 years technical engineering experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Solid working experience in Angular 10 or greater (1+ years).
  • Advanced proficiency in C#/.Net Core coding.
  • Hands-on knowledge of unit testing frameworks (xUnit, nUnit, or similar).
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar platforms for source code management and builds/deploys.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to company sites and be available for call-in and after-hours support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience with .NET MAUI and PWA.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and Entity Framework.
  • Deep understanding of technical strategies and architectures.
  • Fluent in Microsoft development trends.
  • Hands-on experience in large system implementations/projects across multiple organizations.
  • Deep understanding of application security.
  • Experience with integration tools and best practices.
  • Ability to coach and mentor other developers.
