About the position

The .NET Lead/Developer position is a senior role focused on software development using .NET and C#. The role involves working with API and SQL Server databases, and requires extensive experience in software development, particularly in object-oriented programming. The position is hybrid, requiring three days onsite in Newark, NJ, and is offered as a one-year contract.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications using .NET and C#.
  • Design and implement APIs and manage SQL Server databases.
  • Collaborate with business units and vendors to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to manage projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Implement Test Driven Development practices and utilize Entity Framework and MVC frameworks.
  • Manage source control using TFS/Bitbucket and ensure continuous integration and delivery using tools like Jenkins.
  • Oversee job management processes using Autosys and track project progress with JIRA.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of current experience in Software Development.
  • Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages, particularly C# and .NET Core.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems including Oracle and SQL Server, with experience in ETL processes.
  • Expertise in PL/SQL or stored procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret business needs and translate them into application requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with users, team members, and management.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with business units and vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with Application Lifecycle Management techniques and concepts.
  • Experience in the investments or securities domain.
  • Ability to work with Agile methodologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, Entity Framework, and MVC.
  • Knowledge of API management software like Apigee or equivalent.
