About the position

DAS Services is seeking an experienced NetOps Network Engineer (TNE) to join our team in APG, MD. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing information and decision briefs to NetOps leadership and Product Manager/Product Management (PdM/PM) leadership. This position is responsible for managing the hardware and software technical baseline, ensuring that all technical issues surrounding this baseline are resolved efficiently. The NetOps Network Engineer will participate in Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software evaluations and technical reviews, supporting technical management processes and representing the NetOps branch and PdM at various meetings. Coordination with other Program Executive Office (PEO) stakeholders in matters associated with NetOps is also a key responsibility. In addition, the engineer will participate in subsystem and system testing as a technical expert or Subject Matter Expert (SME). This includes supporting formal testing and associated fielding, installation, and training activities. The role requires a deep understanding of current and future force tactical and strategic military communications networks, including the architecture, protocols, security, network management, and the physics underlying these systems. The candidate should also have recent knowledge of how NetOps planning and management is conducted while deployed in support of real-world and training missions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and decision briefs to NetOps leadership and PdM/PM leadership.
  • Manage the hardware and software technical baseline.
  • Resolve technical issues surrounding the hardware and software technical baseline.
  • Participate in COTS software evaluations.
  • Participate in technical reviews.
  • Support technical management processes.
  • Represent the NetOps branch and PdM at meetings.
  • Coordinate with other PEO stakeholders in matters associated with NetOps.
  • Participate in subsystem and system testing as the technical expert / Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Support formal testing and associated fielding, installation, and training activities.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Associates Degree in Networking Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years Military/Tactical experience in Network Operations (NetOps) - Network Management (NM), Information Assurance (IA), Information Dissemination Management (IDM), and Electromagnetic Spectrum Management (ESM).
  • Knowledge and understanding of current/future force tactical and strategic military communications networks.
  • Understanding of the architecture, protocols, security, network management and physics underlying these systems.
  • Understanding of the engineering design, installation, operations, and maintenance of the Tactical Network architecture/program.
  • Recent knowledge of how NetOps planning and management is conducted while deployed in support of real world / training missions.
