About the position
The position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and understanding the monthly accounts receivable allowances and net revenue results for the Banner Health System. This role involves working closely with financial leadership and various functional areas to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with accounting principles. The position offers the opportunity to work remotely, promoting a better work/life balance, and is integral to the financial success of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily balancing/reconciliation between the billing system and Revenue Cycle Analytics tool, resolving any issues promptly.
- Determine contractual, bad debt, and charity reserve estimates during month-end close and prepare associated allowance journal entries accurately.
- Create, distribute, and analyze various net revenue reports to aid divisional and facility finance leaders in understanding their monthly results.
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of the Revenue Cycle Analytics tool and its methodology for estimating adjustments for various services.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounts receivable valuation and net revenue results.
- Participate in the development and documentation of department policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identify and resolve operational issues under guidance, maintaining a positive customer service experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Five plus years of experience in healthcare financial analysis work.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong human relations skills for effective communication with staff and outside professionals.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
Nice-to-haves
- AR valuation and net revenue accounting experience in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with MS4 and NexGen patient accounting systems, Lawson general ledger accounting system, and Crowe Revenue Cycle Analytics tool.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
