About the position

The .NET Senior Application Developer at Highmark Inc. is responsible for leading complex application development services within a project team or application support role. This position involves analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing systematic solutions to meet customer requirements while adhering to Highmark IT standards. The developer will also provide support for maintaining applications, ensuring they meet service levels and quality standards, and may mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of complex application enhancements.
• Provide general production support, ensuring minimal defects and adherence to defined scope and budgets.
• Participate in the full system development life cycle according to Highmark SDLC standards.
• Collaborate with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements and provide innovative technical solutions.
• Provide required technical support, including release implementations and on-call support as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and management, including conducting technical walkthroughs and reporting project status.
• Participate in various project roles, including Developer, Technical Lead, and Project Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• 5 years of experience as a developer.
• Experience with Project Management tools.
• Experience with databases and multiple coding languages.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Experience with .NET and SQL.
• Experience in the Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry.
