About the position

The Network Administrator position is responsible for managing and maintaining network systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role requires a strong technical background in network administration, with a focus on troubleshooting and configuring network devices. The position is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, and requires a Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain network systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
  • Configure and manage layer 2 switching, including VLANs and port security.
  • Utilize network test equipment to assess and improve network performance.
  • Implement and manage NSA type 1 encryption devices for secure communications.
  • Collaborate with military and government customers to meet their network needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in network administration or a similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Network Administration.
  • Familiarity with Cisco IOS, IP routing protocols, and long haul communication transport.
  • Current CCNA, CCNP, or Juniper Certification required prior to start date.
  • Current Security+ certification as per DoD 8570 / 8140 standards.
  • Solid technical skills in LAN and WAN operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytic, and diagnostic skills.
  • Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience, including CAT5 and fiber optics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with military and government customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 10 years of combined work history and education.
  • Familiarity with IP Multicast and DoD cryptographic equipment like TACLANE.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model fundamentals.
