About the position

The Network Administrator, Security position at C Spire involves working within the IT department to provide and maintain specialized information technology solutions for the company's private cloud services and commercial data center. The role focuses on ensuring the security, availability, and performance of enterprise open systems and storage, with a primary emphasis on implementing and maintaining information security policies and controls to protect company assets from threats.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement secure configurations based on established policies to protect the company's networks, systems, and data.
  • Review vulnerability assessments and penetration testing findings and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze device and system logs and network traffic to identify and respond to security incidents and potential threats.
  • Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security tools to protect the company's networks and systems.
  • Provide support to the Cyber security team with regular security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage user access and authentication, including user accounts, passwords, and permissions in compliance with established security policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies, and make recommendations to improve the company's security posture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to security incidents in coordination with the Cyber security incident response plan.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build strategies that enable network growth and enhance service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in information security or systems administration, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and PCI-DSS.
  • Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
