The TURTLESOUP program is designed to provide our customer's Operations organization with optimal solutions for their mission needs, emphasizing collaboration in a fast-paced environment. This role involves providing specifications and detailed drawings, as well as a Bill of Materials (BOM) for network architectures. The candidate will conduct cost/benefit studies and provide detailed information for hardware, data center selection, and implementation techniques to meet both present and future capacity needs. The candidate will be responsible for testing network designs and monitoring network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration. Planning enhancements and upgrades to the network is essential, along with maintaining technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interconnections, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways. The role also includes implementing and sustaining Router and switching solutions in a data center/telecommunications environment, requiring an understanding of IP routing, policy-based routing, VLAN configuration, access-control lists, secure virtual tunneling solutions, and IP SLA requirements. Familiarity with SNMP-based metrics, monitoring, and reporting software solutions such as ZENOSS or Solarwinds is necessary, as is experience in integrating network systems equipment in a rack mount-based solution. Strong communication and organizational skills are crucial for assisting in vendor circuit orders, service implementation changes, IP subnetting, and troubleshooting IP and telecom service interruptions. The candidate must be willing to accept on-call requirements and minimal CONUS travel as needed.
