About the position
As a Network Administrator at TEKsystems, you will support the network infrastructure for LAN/WAN services, ensuring the resilience, security, and operational efficiency of the network. Your role will involve direct interaction with clients to alleviate IT burdens, allowing them to focus on their scientific and research missions. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining network devices, contributing to a collaborative environment that prioritizes maximum uptime and compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate work actions to relieve IT burdens from customers.
- Contribute knowledge and experience to improve IT operations at the institute level.
- Collaborate with the CIT federal team and other service areas to serve clients effectively.
- Ensure network infrastructure and internet/intranet services are available with maximum uptime.
- Respond quickly and thoroughly to incidents, requests, and outages.
- Develop solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative federal environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma with relevant experience and certification.
- Active CCNA or CCNP certification required.
- Minimum one year of network administrator experience.
- Solid understanding of network protocols and switching (TCP/IP, FTP/HTTP, UDP, VPN).
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Experience in activating and configuring network devices (switches, routers, NICs).
- Ability to create network diagrams and use network tools for diagnostics.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Sitescope, Solarwinds, Sciencelogic).
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Experience with Infoblox.
