The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining computer networks and systems. This role involves acting as the first responder to infrastructure trouble-tickets, which include issues related to LAN/WAN switching routing, wireless networks, servers, firewalls, IDS, and IPS. The Network Administrator will perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance on Windows and Linux servers, security appliances, network devices, and SIEM solutions. Technicians in this role must possess the product knowledge and technical skills necessary to install and configure network and security components as well as operating systems. Additionally, the position requires maintaining an enterprise monitoring platform, assisting with documenting configurations, and maintaining an enterprise repository of systems. Physical tasks include racking, stacking, and cabling networking equipment.
