About the position
As a Network Administrator, you will support the network infrastructure for LAN/WAN services, ensuring the resilience, security, and operational efficiency of the network. Your role is crucial in enabling scientists and researchers to focus on their work by managing and troubleshooting network devices and configurations. You will collaborate with IT professionals to maintain high availability of network services and contribute to the development of solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate work actions to alleviate IT burdens from customers.
- Contribute knowledge and experience to improve IT operations at the institute level.
- Collaborate with the CIT federal team and other service areas to serve clients effectively.
- Ensure network infrastructure and internet/intranet services are available with maximum uptime.
- Respond quickly and thoroughly to incidents, requests, and outages.
- Utilize networking experience to develop solutions in a compliant and secure environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma with relevant experience and professional certification.
- Active CCNA or CCNP certification required.
- Minimum one year of network administrator experience.
- Solid understanding of network protocols and switching, TCP/IP, FTP/HTTP, UDP, VPN, etc.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience in activating and configuring switches, routers, and LAN ports.
- Ability to create network diagrams and use network tools for diagnostics.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Monitoring Tools (e.g., Sitescope, Solarwinds, Sciencelogic).
- Experience with ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Experience with Infoblox.
