About the position

The Network Analyst position at Vail Resorts is a dynamic role focused on the day-to-day operations of enterprise data communications and local systems. This includes managing Cisco network switches, wireless communications, and Aruba Mobility Controllers. The Network Analyst will work closely with the IT team to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring a seamless experience for both employees and guests. The role emphasizes safety and guest service, aligning with the company's core values to deliver exceptional IT support. The position is based in Northstar, CA, and is available as a full-time, year-round opportunity. In this role, the Network Analyst will prioritize safety in all aspects of their work, adhering to company safety policies and engaging in training initiatives. They will support server infrastructure and assist PC technicians by providing network knowledge. The Analyst will manage support tickets using a work ticket management system, ensuring alignment with company metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Additionally, they will secure network architecture, troubleshoot basic firewall issues, and manage physical fiber and copper cable patching. The Network Analyst will also be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to network projects and configurations. They will collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to enhance existing network infrastructure. The role requires a commitment to continual improvement and participation in training programs. The Analyst will uphold IT-related company procedures and engage with the community, supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. A positive attitude and a passion for the ski industry are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and ensure personal, coworker, and guest safety in all aspects of work.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Engage in company trainings and initiatives to support safety.
  • Support and administer server infrastructure.
  • Support PC technicians by providing network knowledge to assist in accomplishing tasks.
  • Use the work ticket management system to manage start-to-finish workflow for support tickets in alignment with company metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Provide exceptional guest service supporting users and collaborating with coworkers, ensuring the Experience of a Lifetime.
  • Secure network architecture and NAC and basic firewall troubleshooting, Telecom enterprise/local systems and endpoints plus call centers.
  • Perform physical fiber and copper cable patching and troubleshooting; perform copper cable terminations as required.
  • Create and maintain documentation detailing network projects, design, & configuration.
  • Manage projects with internal stakeholders and 3rd-party vendors to add, fix, or replace existing network infrastructure both on-mountain and in resort base area(s).
  • Bring new ideas to teams for constant evaluation, improvement, and/or implementation of Vail Resorts IT systems while adhering to IT standards.
  • Strive for continual improvement and growth by actively participating in company and IT-specific training.

Requirements

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and friendly demeanor.
  • Solution-oriented with a desire to learn new skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the support needs within an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to move 50 lbs (with assistance if needed).
  • Should be able to work a schedule that can include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level, or desire to learn.
  • Valid US driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cisco network switches and Aruba Mobility Controllers.
  • Familiarity with network security protocols and troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
