About the position

The Systems Administrator at Sarnova is responsible for provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining system hardware, software, and related infrastructure systems. This hybrid role involves ensuring that all systems adhere to organizational standards and continuously improving the infrastructure. The position also includes providing second-level support for end-user issues and being available for emergencies 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows server environment, Nimble Storage environment, virtual server environment, and data network.
• Install and configure servers and necessary applications.
• Perform system upgrades and patches, including firmware, operating systems, and applications.
• Ensure security standards and practices are implemented and maintained within the infrastructure environment.
• Configure and monitor backup/recovery of systems.
• Proactively monitor system status/health and address issues as appropriate.
• Support help desk personnel to resolve end-user issues.
• Develop and maintain security and network configurations.
• Troubleshoot network performance issues.

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a technically diverse environment with wide-ranging responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science/Engineering, Management Information Systems, etc.) strongly preferred; specific technical certifications and additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience installing patches in various network and server environments.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows server environments, including experience managing Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Good knowledge of Red Hat or other Linux Server Environments.
• Experience administrating Office 365.
• Working knowledge and experience configuring and supporting VMWare or similar.
• Experience supporting web servers.
• General working knowledge and previous experience supporting MS SQL Server clusters.
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN principles and protocols.
• Experience managing firewalls is preferred.
• Direct experience supporting Enterprise Storage.

Nice-to-haves

• Security certification or PCI experience is a plus.
• Experience with VEEAM backup solutions is a plus.
