About the position

The Network and UNIX Cybersecurity Assessor, Mid role involves working with government agencies and military organizations to identify and mitigate cyber risks. The position requires translating complex security concepts into actionable plans, ensuring that clients can secure their mission-critical infrastructure. The assessor will collaborate with various security professionals to evaluate the threat landscape and guide clients through the development of comprehensive security measures.

Responsibilities

• Work with DoD and federal organizations to assess cyber risks.
• Comprehend applicable policies and develop mitigation plans.
• Gather technical, environmental, and personnel details from security professionals.
• Guide clients through action plans with presentations and whitepapers.
• Translate security concepts for clients to make informed decisions about their information systems.
• Conduct reviews of enterprises, networks, systems, and applications for compliance and security.
• Support certification and accreditation processes based on national and DoD-level requirements.

Requirements

• Experience with network devices, firewalls, routers, and UNIX operating systems.
• Knowledge of DoD STIGs and RMF assessment tools.
• Ability to consolidate, create, and brief findings based on analysis.
• Secret clearance required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 8570 IAT II Certification required.

Nice-to-haves

• TS/SCI clearance preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Assessor Program (ACP), UNIX, or network vulnerability assessments Certification preferred.
• 8570 IAT III Certification preferred.
• Security Scanning Courses including Walk-through Training Courses preferred.
