About the position

As a Network/Application Performance Engineer at Spry Squared, Inc., you will play a critical role in addressing enterprise-wide network, application, and server capacity and performance issues for our clients. This position requires a minimum security clearance of Top Secret with Full Scope Polygraph, and it is essential that candidates are U.S. citizens. You will be working primarily with Riverbed's SteelCentral product suite, which is designed to enhance IT performance management solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass a blend of engineering disciplines and business acumen, ensuring that our clients can effectively manage and optimize their IT infrastructures. In this role, you will serve as an expert in various areas including cloud migration, WAN optimization, and application performance. You will provide specialized planning and design expertise in critical areas such as data center consolidation, data migration, and network configuration. Your ability to analyze and understand the IT organization, requirements, and processes of our customers will be vital in assisting them to achieve full adoption and utilization of our solutions, thereby maximizing their return on investment and overall business value. You will be expected to present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, producing tailored solutions that meet customer needs while adhering to budget and schedule constraints. Collaboration is key; you will work directly with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Solve clients' enterprise-wide network, application, and server capacity and performance issues.
  • Utilize Riverbed technologies to plan, design, deploy, operate, manage, and optimize IT infrastructures.
  • Serve as an expert in cloud migration, WAN optimization, networking, and application performance.
  • Provide specialized planning and design expertise in data center consolidation and data migration.
  • Analyze and understand customers' IT organization, requirements, and processes to assist in achieving full adoption of solutions.
  • Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions.
  • Produce solutions to fulfill customer needs within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Work directly with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a minimum security clearance of Top Secret with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and network design, protocols, components, and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of web application architecture and software including Web Servers (Apache, IIS), J2EE Application Servers (Websphere, Weblogic), Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), and Operating Systems (UNIX, Windows).
  • Installation and configuration experience with ESX, VMFS, storage sub-systems, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
  • Experience with protocol analyzers, WireShark, NetFlow, and/or packet analysis.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or other scripting languages (ruby, perl, RESTful APIs).
