About the position

L3Harris is searching for a Senior Specialist Network/Applications Process Engineer to support Operations manufacturing and IT related projects. The type of hardware produced at these L3Harris locations is often complex and requires intricate and automated equipment/networks to support these processes. The person filling this position will focus on the technology and networking support required for the development manufacturing of this hardware as well as the internal infrastructure to support ongoing technology implementation and deployment. Experience in network and/or applications engineering related fields is expected for this role. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, automating, deploying, and sustaining numerous projects involving manufacturing technologies and internal networks required to support the L3Harris products and services portfolio. You will evolve and consolidate existing internal standalone networks into shared cross-site virtual servers that require continuous file transfers, filewatcher software integration, and continuous data collection/monitoring. Additionally, you will lead the effort and execution of equipment interconnectivity in areas of redundant as well as isolated technology instances, down-selecting specific equipment choices that align with strategic technology roadmaps and Industry 4.0 implementation efforts across multiple sectors within the business area. Troubleshooting integration and automation programming/scripting will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will need to bring a process back online in a manufacturing environment. Regularly implementing continuous improvement projects to reduce cost/schedule, increase throughput, reduce defects, and drive success into the Operations organization will also be essential. You will work and perform in parallel with existing IT infrastructure, guidelines, personnel, and requirements while simultaneously supporting other projects that require maintenance and upgrades throughout each workday. Identifying organizational infrastructure shortcomings and working collectively with other L3Harris experts on providing solutions and workarounds to specific needs and/or problems in a schedule-constricted environment will be part of your daily tasks. You will also support L3Harris center of excellence initiatives and actively participate in standardizing technologies, infrastructure requirements with IT/security, and automation implementation where applicable. Occasionally, you will support cross-segment development and/or program equipment processes that primarily focus on networking/IT troubleshooting and support.
