About the position

The Network Architect II position at Children's Nebraska involves the architecture, design, installation, and administration of complex computer networks, including the enterprise wireless network. The role focuses on developing network requirements, standards, and researching new products while ensuring high-quality procedures for managing networks in an enterprise environment. This position requires independent work on complex tasks and participation in an on-call schedule, contributing to the overall mission of providing excellent pediatric healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Create complete network architectures that provide end-to-end application solutions.
  • Provide advanced network designs and recommend how network systems could evolve to maintain compatibility with industry standards.
  • Analyze, design, and oversee network and/or systems architecture and configuration.
  • Identify new requirements for the network and/or systems architecture based on various business needs.
  • Lead technical projects according to Children's Project Management methodology.
  • Document projects and activities in accordance with applicable standards and prescribed procedures.
  • Obtain candidate solutions based on identified requirements for the data network and evaluate those solutions.
  • Recommend and implement preferred solutions based on evaluations and team reviews.
  • Deploy new data network components and configurations, including design and configuration of network systems.
  • Develop, implement, promote, and enforce architectural responsibility for all network and telecommunications systems.
  • Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting, operational guidelines, and performance analysis.
  • Develop and provide mentoring and training to less senior staff.
  • Maintain oversight of Active Directory database and provide guidance to Helpdesk as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Networking, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years experience maintaining and operating personal computers, network operating systems, and communications devices.
  • Minimum of five years experience engineering and designing communications and network solutions.
