About the position

The Network Architect role is a full-time position focused on providing technical leadership and project management for network infrastructure projects. The architect will oversee the design, implementation, and support of network systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and mentoring of a technical team to achieve project goals effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and act as a project manager for all technical tasks.
  • Participate in kickoff meetings and build solution implementation roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Senior Engineers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor and coach a highly technical team, providing feedback for performance management.
  • Architect, design, and standardize network infrastructure devices and services.
  • Research and analyze industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Oversee strategic planning and execution of projects that align with business needs.
  • Ensure project milestones and goals are met promptly and effectively.
  • Act as the highest escalation point for chronic or unknown network issues.
  • Measure and report on network capacity, health, and performance.
  • Communicate progress updates to stakeholders and service partners.
  • Direct leading-edge practices and leverage automation in network management.
  • Design and build proof-of-concept (POC) solutions.
  • Establish best practices and policies for network system design and implementation.
  • Support multiple ongoing projects and prioritize key tasks with the team.
  • Maintain and create documentation templates for network designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with network and infrastructure technologies in service providers or large-scale networks.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, inquisitive, and open to learning.
  • Experience with system implementation processes including design, configuration, and support.
  • Experience designing and deploying Triple Play Service Provider Architecture or large enterprise networks.
  • Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCIE Service Provider/Data Center/Enterprise certification.
  • 8+ years of experience in large-scale networking environments or service providers.
  • 8+ years of experience with internet routing protocols and concepts.
  • 8+ years of experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
  • Automation experience via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
  • Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent IP networking fundamentals and experience with IP protocols.
  • Experience with major router platforms like Cisco ASR 9000 Series and Juniper MX/PTX Series.
