About the position

The Network Architect functions in a lead role, providing technical expertise and tactical leadership in the design and validation of complex IP system designs. This position supports various teams including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations to deliver Internet Services solutions effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with cross-functional leadership to advance Internet Services architectural strategy using current and emerging technologies.
• Provides direction and technical expertise to support Internet Service stakeholder teams.
• Performs design, development, documentation, analysis, and validation for complex projects based on customer requirements and design specifications.
• Acts as a thought contributor at customer and partner events.
• Contributes to the creation of documents and training materials for knowledge transfer when launching new products.
• Communicates with Installations, Field Service, and TAC during new product testing phases.
• Leads alpha/initial site configuration and validation of procedures and success criteria.
• Engages with technology vendors on product evaluations and technical issues.
• Assesses the effectiveness of existing systems and contributes to strategies for improvement.
• Tests and validates new hardware for potential deployment applications.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of network equipment and components.
• Leads software integration efforts with network equipment vendors through testing and automation coding.
• Reviews completed work for technical accuracy and conformity with established policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Cisco CCNA or CCDA certification desired; CCNP or CCDP certification preferred.
• Certifications or demonstrated mastery on HPE-Aruba, Ruckus, or equivalent platforms preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with network managed software and firewall security systems.
• Familiarity with DOCSIS and DSL equipment.
