About the position

The Network & Computer Systems Administrator - Journeyman position at OSAAVA Services involves managing and supporting various IT systems for the USAF at Eglin AFB, FL. The role requires a strong background in Windows server environments, system configuration, and user support, with a focus on ensuring compliance and operational efficiency across multiple networks.

Responsibilities

  • Determine hardware, software, and systems specifications and configuration requirements.
  • Execute patching, fixing, and ensuring all assigned systems are compliant.
  • Plan, install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Hyper V and various Windows Server versions.
  • Provide user support in account management, enterprise applications, desktop applications, and peripherals.
  • Coordinate user account creation and modification.
  • Manage user support and collaborate with back shop administrators for additional assistance.
  • Perform other hardware and software tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Windows 2012/2012R2 systems, AD, DHCP, DNS, NTP, CA, GPO, and related core infrastructure components in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supporting MS tools (WSUS, SCDPM, SCOM, etc.).
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Microsoft Failover Clustering.
  • Experience deploying and using System Center Virtualization Manager to manage multiple Hyper-V host clusters.
  • Experience working with SVMs, LIFS, RAID DP, Aggregates, and Volumes.
  • Active/valid Secret clearance with an investigation close date no older than 5.5 years at the time of application.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI-eligible clearance.
  • Must be willing to submit to, and be able to pass, a CI polygraph.
  • Active / valid DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification (Security +).

Nice-to-haves

  • Practical experience configuring and implementing CIFS/SMB3 and NFS protocols.
  • Scripting and/or programming experience (PowerShell, VB Script or other).
  • Experience identifying and implementing automation opportunities to eliminate repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server virtualization deployment and maintenance, specifically with Hyper-V servers and guests.
  • Experience implementing MS SQL server solutions.
  • Experience with System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
  • Basic understanding of networking (routing/switching/VLANS/firewalls).
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors during development/troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing documentation.
