About the position

The Network Construction Manager at Crown Castle is responsible for overseeing the construction of Small Cell Networks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires expertise in outside and inside plant cable construction, as well as knowledge of local and state permitting processes. The manager will coordinate with various internal departments and external vendors, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of construction on Crown Castle projects including vendor selection and on-site management.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, OEM installers, and customer representatives for project execution.
  • Oversee DAS and Small Cell projects, including fiber installation and hub/node construction.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and develop construction bid packages.
  • Negotiate costs and hold vendors accountable to maintain project budgets.
  • Manage development of permit and construction plans, and coordinate with engineering vendors.
  • Track project progress and maintain accurate project files and documentation.
  • Act as a safety observer and Quality Assurance representative on-site.
  • Problem-solve issues that arise during construction to maintain project integrity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of construction experience, with direct telecommunications Small Cell Construction experience preferred.
  • 3 years of supervisory contractor construction experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications outside plant construction techniques (aerial and underground) preferred.
  • Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for grounding and bonding tests, RF sweep tests, and optical power meter testing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards preferred; previous OSHA 10 training preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Basic telecommunications construction experience/knowledge preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic problem-solving environment.
